FAQ

Questions,
answered.

Things most students ask before their first lesson. Still unsure? Get in touch — happy to answer any questions directly.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

No — we have everything covered in our professional studio. If you do have your own drum sticks or books, please bring them along.

How old do I need to be?

You can start learning the drums from any age! Key stage 2 and upwards works well for younger learners, and it's never too late for older ones either.

How much does it cost?

Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60 minute slots — the best length depends on your age and ability. There's absolutely no obligation to continue after your first lesson, so it's definitely worth giving it a try.

Do I need weekly lessons?

Beginners benefit most from regular weekly or fortnightly sessions to build momentum. More experienced drummers may prefer longer, occasional sessions focused on specific goals.

What will I learn?

Lessons are always tailored to the individual. All students develop core drumming skills and music theory, but the approach adapts to your learning style, experience, and goals.

Do I have to do music grades?

Grade exams are completely optional. Experience covers Initial through Grade 8, but there's no requirement to work towards them — plenty of students just want to play for fun.

How do I book a lesson?

Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp, text, email, or fill out the new student enquiry form on this site. Text or WhatsApp on 07487827754 is the quickest way.

Can parents sit in on lessons?

Absolutely — especially for younger or new students. Parents are welcome to stay for the full session or check in at the end to see what's been covered.
